I knew Dana and Matt’s wedding was going to be fun from the very first conversations we had about it. Dana’s plan for her wedding was rustic barnyard party. It was full with the details of a texas gal, boots, delicious BBQ and games in the fields. This girl is certainly a southern bride at heart.
Kelley Creek Farms was the perfect venue for this day. Nestled up passed Ogden Canyon in Hunstville Utah, Kelly Creek sits on a hill. It over looks one of the most beautiful valleys Utah has with ranches, horses and fields surrounding you. The touches of yellow and blue was perfect against all the greenery.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to this wedding all year long. Dana is a good friend and is probably the most “Texas Girl” I know. When she was in the midst of planning, she had the clear vision of having blue bonnets, the Texas state flower, all around. As it turns out, it is HARD to get blue bonnets in Utah in Sept. But that didnt stop this girl. Although they were in her bouquet, her step mom included them in centerpieces and all the decorations that they had put together. And her step mom Jan put together a lot! We laughed that they needed to take a U-Haul behind their car on the drive from Texas to Utah for the wedding just to fit all the decorations she put together!
The ceremony was sweet and beautiful. The “posse” of five flowers girls stayed together and tossed their petals without much chaos and Matt’s mom cried a little bit as her son walked her down the aisle. Pastor Dave married the two under a arch way for burlap and lace that overlooked the beautiful valley. It was all smiles for these two for the rest of the day! Dancing and laughing with their close friends and family and wonderful toasts given by Dana’s sister and Matt’s brother. It was such a wonderful and perfect day.
